Committed to Diversity
Policy Statement on Diversity
The Division of Student Services adheres to Creighton University's Statement on Diversity which welcomes the rich variety of (a) states of being, (b) ways of thinking, and (c) individual, group, and organizational behaviors that are present in our community. Our intent as the Division of Student Services is to promote self-awareness, cultural competency, and an open atmosphere of learning for staff and students. The Division of Student Services is committed to promoting a climate of acceptance and respect, recognizing the dignity of all persons in the University community, and those served by the University community.
Division of Student Services Diversity Action Team
The Division of Student Services Diversity Action Team (DAT) is a standing, permanent group with the ongoing charge of facilitating intercultural learning amongst Student Services staff and Creighton students.
One of the primary efforts of the Diversity Action Team within the past 12 months has been the creation of I.D.E.A. or Initiatives in Diversity Education in Action. I.D.E.A. was formally launched in September of 2007 and represents an important milestone in Student Services towards recognizing that intercultural awareness and competency is something that needs to be practiced--continually learned and enhanced.
