Joseph Ecklund, Director
Joe joined Creighton's Office of Student Success as Director in the Fall of 2007.  He most recently worked in residence life at the University of Toledo, and before that, had spent time at Wichita State University and Marquette University.  After 10 years of working at large, publicly supported institutions, Joe wanted to return to the smaller environment of a Jesuit University.  He earned a Bachelors degree in History and Masters degree in education, both from Marquette, and is nearing the end of a Ph.D program in higher education at the University of Toledo.
 
In addition to supporting the work of Kathleen and other staff in the OSS, Joe works directly with the Ratio Studiorum Program, coordinates the Strategies for Academic Success courses, and collaborates on University retention efforts.

Kathleen Warner, Assistant Director
Biography: Kathleen received her B.A. in Psychology at Duquesne University in 2002 and her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at Loyola College in Maryland in 2004.

Kathleen was the director of the peer education efforts at Creighton University from August of 2004 through June of 2007 here at Creighton before assuming the new role of Assistant Director in the Office of Student Success.  For the past three years, Kathleen has had a strong record directing our peer education efforts, developing innovative programming, and serving on numerous committees and efforts both within the division and at Creighton.

Michelle Morrison, RSP 120 Instructor & RSP 200 Pre-Major Advisor
Michelle Morrison received her B.S. from the University of Arizona in 1974. She then received her M.S. in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2000. She was a professor in UNO's Graduate School of Counseling from 2000 to 2002. She also worked for the Omaha Catholic School Office implementing a grant based Adult Enrichment Program for all the Catholic School Counselors in the Metro area from 2003-2006. 

Michelle joined the Creighton University Faculty in 2004 and now serves as a RSP 120 Instructor and an RSP 200 Advisor.

Barb Slattery, RSP 120 Instructor & RSP 200 Pre-Major Advisor
Barbara Slattery received her B.S. from The University of Nebraska at Omaha in Elementary Education in 1990. She taught elementary School in the Omaha Archdiocese for nine years. She then received her Master of Liberal Studies (M.A.) from Creighton University in 2004. Her thesis was entitled, Health Disparities: Cultural Proficiency as a Tool for Bridging the Gap.

Barb has been on staff at Creighton University for twenty years, and has held positions as W.I.C. Program Director, Senior Manager in the Department of Health Science-Multicultural and Community Affairs,heading up grant-based programs benefiting disadvantaged students. In addition, she currently has a position as Instructor of RSP 120,(Strategies for Academic Success) and as an advisor for Sophomores in RSP 200. She advises students interested in both Education and Health Science majors.
