Creighton University New Employee Orientation
The Radiation Safety office provides general radiation safety training to all new employees during new employee orientation. Information includes a general overview of radiation safety principles, ALARA, identification of the Radiation Safety office personnel and notification that additional training will be required for those working in areas where radiation may be used.
Creighton University Medical Center Employee Training
The Creighton University Medical Center (Hospital) requires all new employees to participate in initial and annual training, one component of which includes an overview of radiation safety.
Radiation Safety Training and Required Annual Refresher Training
All Authorized Users and radiations safety workers are required to meet initially with the Radiation Safety office staff for training before they are allowed to use radioactive materials. More specific training requirements are outlined in the Training Requirements flowchart.
All Authorized Users, radiation safety workers and ancillary personnel (e.g. housekeeping, Public Safety) are required to attend annual radiation safety training provided by the Radiation Safety Office.
Annual refresher radiation safety training sessions for laboratory workers are scheduled quarterly. Contact the Radiation Safety office for information.
