Prime timeslots
The Registrar’s Office has reviewed the number of courses that each department may offer in each prime time slot. This formula was devised a number of years ago to assist in scheduling classrooms.
The formula is based on the total number of day time sections each department scheduled in general purpose classrooms in Fall 2006 and the number of general purpose classrooms available (54).
Based on this formula, a department may offer a maximum of 1 course in EACH prime time slot for every 9 day time courses offered. Departments may offer an unlimited number of sections at non-prime times and in the evening when classrooms are plentiful.
The prime time slots are as follows:
9:30 MWF
10:30 MWF
11:30 MWF
1:30 MWF
9:30 TuTh
11:00 TuTh
2:00 TuTh
Based on this formula, the maximum number of courses that your department may offer in a prime time slot is as follows:
