Hearing, Cochlear Implants Subject of March 28 Lecture

David K. Ryugo, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Otolaryngology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, M.D., will speak on “Brain Plasticity: Hearing, Deafness, and Cochlear Implants” on March 28 at Creighton University Medical Center.

The presentation, part of the Creighton University School of Medicine Distinguished Lecture Series, will take place noon-1 p.m., at the medical center’s Morrison Seminar Room, 601 N. 30th St. The event is free and open to the public.

Ryugo recently completed groundbreaking studies on the effects of cochlear implant stimulation on a key connection within the hearing pathway.

Lecture sponsors include Creighton University’s School of Medicine, the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and the Continuing Medical Education Division. Continuing medical education credit is available.
