Student Coordinators FAQ
Who is eligible to be a Coordinator?
Any interested and willing student who after participating in a Spring or Fall Break Service Trip. We seek leaders who are interested in learning about small group facilitation of reflection, social analysis and more about our pillars.
How do I become a Coordinator?
Talk with your coordinator about their experience. Apply, interview and participate in all formation activities.
How do I apply?
Applications are available at the info sessions and online after those dates.
What is the selection process?
The CCSJ is committed to leadership formation, therefore a sincere interest is the foundation for further development. We also look for leaders with sensitivity to group dynamics.
What are the responsibilities and expectations of a Coordinator?
There are several, but they are not overwhelming. In addition to what you did as a participant, we offer a 1 day retreat called “Day of Formation” and have 3 coordinator meetings. Coordinators are in communication with their host sites to better understand the context of the host site community, expectations, schedules and to help prepare students to engage in the experience offered by our host sites. This can include research about local issues and strengths, any legislative campaigns which impact the community.
