Welcome to Campus Ministry

Laura A. Weber, Ph.D.

Director of Campus Ministry

On Behalf of the Department of Campus Ministry, Welcome to Creighton University!

Campus Ministry is Integral to our University's Mission

Faith development is closely tied to students' intellectual development. While learning about your faith in your academic Theology courses, Campus Ministry is here to help you integrate your intellectual inquiry with your life experience. Come talk with us about what you are learning in your classes. We love having students here!

Who Are We?

The Campus Ministry staff consists of committed lay ministers, Jesuit priests, and student interns. We are available to assist students who want to talk about their journeys of faith, or get involved putting their faith into action.

What Can We Do For You?

How can we be of service to you in your journey of faith? We offer a fantastic retreat program, individual spiritual direction, faith-sharing communities, featured faith and social events, and further down the road, even marriage preparation!

Where Are We?

Our offices are located in St. John's, the symbolic center of the Creighton community in the heart of our campus. Everyone from any faith tradition is welcome to "come to the quiet" of St. John's for private reflection, meditation, or for our University-wide liturgical celebrations. Remember to visit lower St. John's, too, where many social activities and meetings are held, and where a smaller chapel awaits you for quiet prayer or reflection.

What If You Are Catholic?

If you are a Catholic Christian, you are most welcome to join the parish community as an active member of St. John's. There are many opportunities for you to participate fully as a lector, musician, or Eucharistic minister in our regular parish and University liturgies.

What If You Are NOT Catholic?

Campus Ministry is not just for Catholic students. We provide links for you to religious communities representing your own faith tradition, so you can "grow where you are planted." We believe that one of our most important services is to provide opportunities for our students to become involved or to continue their involvement with a faith tradition and community that worships God in service of the larger community. This includes providing ways for students of diverse faith traditions to come together for inter-faith dialogue, prayer, retreat and service experiences, while exploring their own faith in greater depth.

Do You Want To Go To Work?

We collaborate with Creighton's Center for Service and Justice (CCSJ), and the Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC), helping students experience a special care for the poor, in the context of a faith that does justice, through direct service opportunities. We also work closely with the Cardoner program, which offers students many ways to connect their deepest desires and gifts to their life's work. Perhaps you would like to consider ministry as a possibility for your life's work? Consider applying online today. Come meet our excellent staff in our offices at St. John's, and let us know how we can assist you in your journey of faith!

Have you considered ministry as a life calling?

Perhaps you would like to consider ministry as a possibility for your life's work?  Consider our Campus Ministry Internship and Student Partners programs. We will introduce you to a process of discerning your life calling, while giving you some practical skills for ministry in our University setting.

Come meet our excellent staff in our offices at St. John's, and let us know how we can assist you in your journey of faith!

Gratefully,
Laura A. Weber, Ph.D.
