Med Students Organize 2006 Magis Classic
The 2006 Magis Classic was held Friday, September 15, 2006, at Indian Creek Golf Course. This event is the second annual fundraiser for the Magis Medical Clinic, a free clinic run exclusively by Creighton University Medical School students and staffed by volunteer physicians. The Magis Clinic offers care to the uninsured and underinsured members of the
Omaha community, and is located at the Siena/Francis House. In total, over $28,000 was raised to benefit the Magis Clinic.
For the first time, this event coincided with the Medical Alumni Weekend, which increased participation and sponsorship by the Creighton community. The photo to the right shows golf participants, Dr. Carlos Torres (M.D. 1956), and his wife Ada, enjoying the day.
A four-person scramble was contested by 13 foursomes, with the winning team finishing 14 under par (58). Members of the winning team include, from right to left: Dr. Frederick Youngblood, P.D. Rudersdorf, Tom Schuyler, and Dr. Michael Davidian.
