CU Students Win at 2008 Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum

The 2008 Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum (MSBRF) was held during the first weekend in March.  This annual event features research presentations from medical and graduate students from the Midwest.  The best presentations are chosen by faculty from Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and the winners go on to present their work at the National Forum in Galveston, Texas.

This year, there were 122 total student presentations.  Twenty-nine presentations were made by Creighton students - 13 medical students and 16 graduate students.

The competition was quite competitive with extremely close scoring this year.  This resulted in a number of ties in categories.  As a result, the Forum presented 20 total awards instead of the typical 16, which usually results from 4 awards in each of 4 categories.
