2007 White Coat Ceremony

On Friday, August 10, 2007, Creighton University School of Medicine welcomed 126 new students at the White Coat Ceremony.  Each student was presented with a white coat, symbolic of the medical profession.

Creighotn's class of 2011 were selected from an applicant pool of 5,513 applicants. The ages of the applicants at the time of application ranged from 21 to 38 years-old, with the median age being 23.

These first year medical students have outstanding academic credentials as evidenced by their high GPAs and MCATs.  They represent 73 different colleges and universities in 26 states.   They also come to Creighton University School of Medicine with 44 different majors - most majoring in Biology, followed by Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Psychology.

The White Coat Ceremony was followed by a welcome picnic in the Creighton University Jesuit Gardens for students, families, friends, and faculty.
