A BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH PROGRAM FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
The purpose of the Summer Research Institute is to increase interest in biomedical and health science professions among underrepresented minority groups.  The specific objectives of the program are:

  • To enable students to better understand the nature and applicability of scientific research methods.
  • To instill confidence in students pursuing careers in biomedical research and other health professions.
  •  To provide minority students exposure to opportunities inherent in research careers

The Summer Research Institute for Minority Students at Creighton University Medical Center is for students who are underrepresented in the health sciences.  Students are paired with a University faculty member who involves the students in an ongoing research project or designs a project specifically for the student.  The Summer Research Institute accepts students for summer terms of eight to ten weeks.
