Entrance Requirements

Applying to the IELI
- Complete the IELI Application Form
- Write a Personal Statement of approximately 250 words explaining why you want to study at the IELI.
- Make a copy of the personal page of your passport.
- Complete the Certification of Available Finances Form, indicating funding from all sources. Attach bank statements showing the last 3 months of activity.
- Purchase a cashier’s check or money order in the amount of US$50 payable to Creighton University. This is a one-time, non-refundable application fee.
- Send items 1-5 (no faxes accepted) to the

Omaha, Nebraska 68178 -- U.S.A. - Ask the appropriate official or agency to send the following documents directly to Creighton University’s Intensive English Language Institute:
- A certified original copy of your high school or, if applicable, university transcripts
- A certified translation of all transcripts if they are in a language other than English
- Your most recent English proficiency test score report (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS) or teacher recommendation
Only completed applications will be given consideration!
Deadlines
The application deadline is two months before the beginning of the term:
- June 15 for Term I
- August 15 for Term II
- November 15 for Term III
- January 15 for Term IV
- April 15 for Term V (Summer Term)
Admission
Once accepted into the program, you will receive an acceptance letter and an I-20 with further instructions. You will need these to apply for an entry visa at the U.S. Embassy or consulate in your country. Full-time students must enter the U.S. on a student visa, not a tourist visa.
Admission to Creighton
Admission to Creighton’s IELI does not include admission to Creighton University. If you plan to enter Creighton University, you should apply for admission to the University.
