Change in Status

It is important to note "When Things Change”. For all premiums paid on a pre-tax basis, Federal Law sets specific rules about changes that can be made during the rest of the plan year unless you experience a “qualified status change”.

Addition/Deletion of Spouse or Children will take place on the first of the month following the date of the qualifying event. Newborns will be retroactively effective on their date of birth. After providing proper documentation to Human Resources (i.e. marriage certificate, birth certificate), all status changes must be completed on the web at: www.cuontheweb.essbenefits.com within 31 days of the qualifying event.
