Display of Mortars and Pestles at the Health Sciences Library
These are just a few samples of the nearly 180 mortars and pestles donated to the Library by Dr. Sidney Stohs, former dean of The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.
The mortars vary in construction material ranging from wood to iron to volcanic stone.
Some of these date back to 1900, and earlier.
Many of these are currently on view and more will be added as we acquire additional display cases.
