Atmospheric Sciences

This course of study is designed for those interested in advanced careers in meteorology or the environment. Students will receive education and experience that could lead to work with agencies such as the National Weather Service, the United States Air Force Weather Service, state, local and federal regulatory agencies and various environmental and meteorological research organizations. Duration: Two years full time

Number of Credits Required: Students are required to take at least 15 credit hours from either core track, plus a minimum of 18 credit hours of 600-Level and above course work.

Cost: $625 per credit hour

Application

Preferred Application Deadline: Domestic: August 1 for fall, December 1 for spring and May 1 for summer entry. International students should apply at least three months in advance of anticipated start date in order to get all paperwork processed.

Admissions Requirements:
Applicants holding a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology, physics, or related natural and/or physical sciences, with a GPA of at least 3.0 are preferred. An application should include:

  • Completed application and application fee
  • GRE scores
  • Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • TOEFL scores for students from countries in which English is not the native language
