Counseling
Counselor education at Creighton is designed to meet the needs, at the master’s level, of those interested in various counseling roles and student development services (student personnel). As such, the program is divided into areas of specialization with each designed to develop the competencies demanded of an individual embarking on a career in one of these areas. Such individuals usually are employed by school systems employment services, colleges or community agencies. Access website here.

Duration: Two years full time
Number of Credits Required: 42
Cost: $625 per credit hour
Stipend/Fellowship: Full-time teachers receive 50% tuition remission and teachers in Catholic schools receive 75% tuition remission. No fellowships.

Application
Preferred Application Deadline: Domestic: August 1 for fall, December 1 for spring and May 1 for summer entry. International students should apply at least three months in advance of anticipated start date in order to get all paperwork processed.
Admissions Requirements:
Applicants holding a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology, physics, or related natural and/or physical sciences, with a GPA of at least 3.0 are preferred. An application should include:
- Completed application and application fee
- GRE scores
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- Three letters of recommendation
- One-page resume
- Writing sample: Personal statement on "Why I want to be a counselor"
- Notarized Convictions Statement and Mental Health Capacity forms
- TOEFL scores for students from countries in which English is not the native language
