About the Hosts

CREIGHTON STUDENTS UNION
The Creighton Students Union, the Creighton University student government, is organized for public and charitable purposes and operates as an integral part of Creighton University.  The objective of the Creighton Students Union is to further the best interests of Creighton University and its student by representing the opinions and wishes of the student to the University and to the communities outside the University; by supporting student organizations that program student activities; and supporting the Jesuit mission of education, service, and the development of the whole person.

CREIGHTON PREPARATORY SCHOOL
As a private Jesuit High School with an enrollment of 1000 boys from grades 9-12, the school was founded in 1878.  The mission of Creighton Prep is to inspire and help young men develop themselves as leaders in service to others through a Catholic, college preparatory education program in the Jesuit tradition.

By assisting in the planning of such a massive event with student leaders on a university level, the benefits for both sides are innumerable.  Through their involvement, along with the Jesuit Middle School, we hope to increase the interconnectivity between these three Jesuit institutions of learning in Omaha.  Along with providing financial assistance to the Jesuit Middle School, these have become CSU’s main intentions of JayWalk.

JESUIT MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Jesuit Middle School of Omaha offers young males of Omaha, particularly African American, a quality education opportunity, encouraging them to claim ownership of their lives and develop themselves as responsible leaders.  The training in this Catholic school includes three basics of traditional Jesuit education and prepares its graduates academically, socially, and spiritually for acceptance into a college preparatory curriculum.

For the past four years JayWalk has raised almost thirty thousand dollars for the benefit of the Jesuit Middle School of Omaha.  This money has enabled them to make many necessary changes throughout their school and the proceeds have even gone on to fund the tuition of a student.

JayWalk serves to provide for the financial needs of the students striving for Magis or “More”.  The Jesuit Middle School of Omaha exists to provide young male students with a quality environment for growth as students, community leaders, and children of God.  It lives out the Jesuit value of Men and Women for and with Others, as it helps to educate students from impoverished backgrounds who otherwise would not be able to have such an education.

JayWalk is a collaborative effort between Omaha's three Jesuit schools. All proceeds benefit the Jesuit Middle School of Omaha.
