Web Development
The University Web Team is a customer-focused, innovative, and solution-driven department within DoIT. The team is tasked with overseeing the use and development of the University's website and is responsible for the overall design and scope of the University's official online presence.
Mission
- Create a clear central site to represent the university as a whole. Positively reflect Creighton’s identity and brand.
- Build the backend to support a holistic solution to maintaining websites and the overall message content (CMS) – reduce administrative overhead and site maintenance costs.
- Work with various departments within the University to assist them in the creation or redesign of their web site. The web services team will make sure that the web sites are ADA 508 accessible and will provide a platform in the form of a simple content management system (TYPO3) that will assist the departments to easily maintain their websites.
Services Offered
- Web site Migration
- Creating new web pages and maintaining web pages for schools, departments, organizations
- Maintaining the front door of the University's website
- Provide hardware and software infrastructure for the University's website, including implementing major security initiatives
- Provide technical support for web pages housed on the Creighton servers
- Develop applications as appropriate using PHP and databases (MSSQL/MySQL) for dynamic content across the University.
- Provide Global statistical analysis showing an overall picture of who is visiting the web site and how they travel through the site.
- Respond to comments, questions and other feedback sent through the University's webmaster mail box
Web Standards
All websites that represent Creighton University or are hosted on CU web servers must comply with minimum standards.
- Level One
Websites for CU colleges, departments, service and administrative units, institutes, laboratories and bureaus.
- Level Two
Websites for CU committees, organizations, and student groups. Also includes course websites, personal websites that contain course information, CU sponsored conference, symposia, and exhibition websites.
- Level Three
Websites affiliated with the university such as personal web pages that are hosted on university web servers

Reporting Problems
If you should experience problems with a web site maintained by the University Web Team, please help us solve it as quickly as possible by providing the following information:
- The exact web address of the page where the problem occurs
- What type of computer and which browser was used to view the page
- Whether the problem occurred while viewing the page, with editing, or with some other web application
- When the problem was first noticed, if known
