Television and Cable
Television (Cable TV) programming is provided to campus, including the Residence Halls, by Cox Communications.
Residence Halls
During the Spring of 2005, Cox Communications upgraded the residence halls to Cox Cable which increased the number of channels available and offers upgrade options such as digital cable.
To upgrade your cable please contact Cox at 933-2155 option 1.
For technical support please contact DoIT For Students at 402-280-1111 option 2.
Setup Instructions
1. Between the cable jack on the wall and the cable modem is a cable splitter. Connect a coax cable from the cable splitter to your television.
2. Plug your television into an electrical outlet.
3. Power on your television. Many TVs go through an automatic configuration process when they are turned on for the first time. If your TV goes through this automatic setup, just wait for it to complete. Your TV is ready for use.
4. If your TV does not automatically configure itself for the cable connection, you will need to refer to your owner’s manual for instructions on how to reprogram it.
Troubleshooting
Did you set your TV for a Cable input?
Did you check to make sure all the Cable connections are tight at the wall plate, splitter, and TV connection?
Did you reprogram your TV to recognize the additional channels?
