Getting Started for Faculty and Staff
New faculty and staff should work through this list to get setup and learn about some of the most important technology offerings from DoIT.
- Get your Campus Identity
First you'll need a NetID and password. Once you have your NetID, you can obtain a physicial ID card for building access, library services, Jaybucks, or identification at Card Services.
- Update your Contact Information
Get a primer on the account management interface, AMI, where you can update your information, reset passwords, monitor your mailbox size, etc.
- Get the Right Computer
Make sure the computer you get is up to the task. Here are the minimum specifications, along with information on DoIT's role in getting your machine configured.
- Practice Safe Computing
Learn how to protect your computer, and yourself, with our tips. Learn how DoIT keeps your computer safe with the latest patches, antivirus, and other utilities.
- Get Connected
Learn about your network hookups, including our wireless hotspots, and register your networked devices (including your computer!) on Creighton's network.
- Get Your Email
With your NetID and password, you can access CUmail. Protect yourself from spam with Postini, and subscribe to your favorite campus mailing lists.
- Get Your Class Materials Online
Every course at Creighton has an online space created for it by default, and space can be created for non-academic uses, too. Learn how to use this resource to enhance teaching, learning, and the community!
- Get Your Own Web Space
You can have your own, personal web space at Creighton. Sponsored groups or clubs can, too. Find out how to create one, and how to use it.
- Get Connected to Classrooms
Classroom technology is important at Creighton, which boasts both Smart Classrooms and a technology delivery service for other classrooms. Learn how to use installed and available equipment to enhance classroom teaching.
- Get Your Telephone Connected
Learn all you need to know about telephone service on campus.
- Learn the Basics
DoIT offers baseline technology training for faculty and staff in our Net Essentials classes. Other, advanced classes and workshops are also available. Sign up now!
- Get Help When You Need It
DoIT's Service Desk is just a phone call away (402-280-1111) and can help with most any IT problem. But you can find additional help resources online at this site.
