Windows Media on Mac OS X

Creighton University officially supports Windows Media on our streaming server and on campus. This can present a dilemma for Mac users, whose OS is geared to present Quicktime media.

Watching Windows Media

With the official demise of Microsoft's own Windows Media Player for Macintosh, the torch has been passsed to a company called Telestream and their

>Flip4Mac product.

The download is free, and it plugs in to your Quicktime movie player, enabling you to watch (most) .wmv files in Quicktime.

Making Windows Media

The other half of the equation is creating Windows Media files on your Macintosh. The Flip4Mac prodcut line also includes software that will enable you to do this from within Quicktime Player Pro or any Quicktime-enabled movie making application.

Visit Telestream's own site for information on features and pricing.
