Creighton University: Willing to Serve

“A Jesuit education ‘concerns itself with questions of values, with educating men and women to be good citizens and good leaders, concerned with the common good, and able to use their education for the service of faith and promotion of justice.’”

- Fr. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., Superior General of
the Society of Jesus

Willing to Serve

... by supporting The Creighton Fund (Sustaining Gifts)

Service is a hallmark of the Creighton experience. In the practical application of a Jesuit education, our students are encouraged to embrace the world and immerse themselves in it. Living their faith in solidarity with others demands ethical decisions that are honest and reflective. By preparing women and men for others, we provide an environment for faith in action – for each other, the community and the greater world.

But Creighton University's spirit of service does not stop at graduation. Beyond service to their own communities, our alumni generously have continued their service to the University through The Creighton Fund, the annual giving program that sustains the University. Gifts of all sizes to The Creighton Fund allow Creighton University to excel and constantly improve for our students.

Unrestricted annual gifts provide the institution with the necessary flexibility to apply funds where they are needed most and respond to exceptional opportunities as they arise, including: providing scholarships for students who otherwise could not attend Creighton; funding innovative academic initiatives; updating research laboratories; attracting and retaining respected faculty; helping Creighton University create an environment for faith in action, and more.

While Creighton alumni have served the University generously through The Creighton Fund – which has reached $5 million annually – these annual gifts that sustain the University’s growth must continue to increase as the University expands. The campaign seeks to step up Creighton Fund contributions from the current average of $5 million annually to $7 million each year.

By contributing to The Creighton Fund campaign goal of $30 million, each alumni donor can participate in our “second founding” through what cumulatively will be one of the largest gifts ever to the university.
