Creighton University: Willing to Grow

Willing to Grow

The early success of THE CAMPAIGN FOR CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY, buoyed by an anonymous $50 million gift, has given us the confidence to move ahead with several critical facilities.

This campus expansion, through land and buildings, is designed to provide our undergraduate and professional students with a high-level academic, life-changing experience and our faculty with enhanced facilities for research.

Our new East Campus village, for example, brings expanded academic facilities, new social and recreational spaces, additional dining facilities and residences and safety enhancements. The love of campus life and the convenience of student support facilities will come alive in a cohesive and inviting on-campus environment.

The campaign seeks additional private philanthropic support of $99 million for the East Campus expansion to expedite additional land acquisition and complete key facilities.

Junior-Senior Town Homes

Residence halls are more than buildings. They are vital extensions of the learning environment.

Davis Square, designed specifically for upperclassmen, opened to students in 2004 to great success. With the momentum of the campus master plan and with current student housing at nearly 100 percent capacity (due to our recent record enrollment), our second junior-senior housing, Opus Hall, opened in 2006.

This additional housing will allow us to:

  • Continue our planned growth and bolster our ability to retain students
  • Keep student leaders on campus, developing a closer-knit community
  • Meet student demand for on-campus living

Mike and Josie Harper Center for Student Life and Learning

This signature facility, unique among universities in the Midwest, will bring together traditional student services in one convenient location:

  • Admissions and financial aid
  • Advising and career counseling
  • Multicultural Affairs
  • Student Health Services
  • And Creighton's Center for Service and Justice

THE CAMPAIGN FOR CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY seeks additional private support to complete this critically important facility, and naming opportunities within the Harper Center are available.

The Rev. Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium

The campus master plan also addresses Creighton's successes and future opportunities to excel even further in athletics. We place great importance on athletics as part of our "whole-person" education.

The new Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium is a further testament to this essential component of the Creighton experience. A premier soccer facility in the nation, the stadium is the initial step in plans for a campus athletics and recreation district.

The Bluejays' new home underscores their national soccer reputation and provides Omaha with a major new sports venue — a 7,000-seat soccer stadium within walking distance for students and fans who live and work downtown.

The stadium represents yet another commitment to Creighton's student-athletes, a group that ranked in the top 10 academically among Division I schools in a recent NCAA report.
