Service and Learning Sites of Creighton Community: Men and Women for and with Others
To guide Creighton’s community relations, engagement, and service outreach, Creighton tracks what is being done by whom, and to what effect. Creighton maintains records of its on-going service, community relations, and engagement in the local, regional, national, and international communities to ensure that its activities work to fulfill its mission: To educate women and men in the Jesuit and Catholic tradition.
That tradition includes opportunities for students to learn how to become men and women for and with others – especially the poor and those who remain underserved in our communities.
When Creighton assists the community, the community assists Creighton. The community helps Creighton educate women and men to be leaders in their careers and professions and to be of service to others. Creighton needs the community; the community needs Creighton. It is a win-win partnership.
- During 2006-2007, Creighton was physically involved in 579 programs locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
In addition, Creighton was electronically involved in outreach to persons in all 50 of the United States of America as well as over 150 countries. (See "Service" page on this website for more information of where Creighton serves around the world.)

Creighton's Support of Community Events
Many invitations are sent to the Offices of the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, and the Marketing and Public Relations Division of Creighton to support financially community events that are consistent with its Jesuit and Catholic Mission.
- Annually, Creighton supports approximately 148 commuity events.
Creighton's guidelines to support financially a community event are the following:
- Creighton supports nonprofit entities whose missions are inclusive in Creighton's mission of education, service, and outreach.
- Creighton funds to purchase tables or participate in walks/runs/golf-outings, etc., should be used to purchase one table (or its equivalent). Other persons from the Creighton community can attend the same event at their own expense.
- Generally, Creighton supports the main fund-raising event of the nonprofit entity.
If a new fund-raising event is thought to be consistent with Creighton's mission, the new event should be sent to Kathy Morgan, Executive Assistant in the President's Office at 280-4079 or kamorgan@creighton.edu. The event will be reviewed for its merit in gaining Creighton's financial support and be addressed appropriately.
