To Plan Additional Outreach Activities:
Here are some steps to take as you plan new outreach activities from your area, school/college:
- Check to see that the new outreach activity fits within Creighton's "Partnership Guidelines"
- Determine that the overall educational goals and activities are related to Creighton's mission and that they can be measured/assessed/evaluated for Creighton participants and the communities served.
- Go to "Whom We Serve" to find out what and where Creighton is already engaged in outreach; check to see if similar outreach activities or the same site(s) already have another area of Creighton involved with that community.
- If Creighton is already working with the agency, school, healthcare entity, church, etc., go to "Contact Us" and find the person from whom you can get more information about what is already being done.
- See if there are opportunities for your area to collaborate with what is already an existing service and learning site.
- Once the new outreach is on-going, contact Kathy Morgan (kamorgan@creighton.edu) in the President's Office so she can update the current listing of Creighton's community outreach and engagement activities on "Whom We Serve."
- Go to "Media Outreach" to see if your new community outreach/engagement program should be publicized on radio or television. Also contact Marketing and Public Relations. Your stories may be used for media and publication stories for the Creighton University Magazine and/or AlumWire.
