Extent of Creighton's Community Relations and Service Outreach
Since our founding in 1878, Creighton has been characterized as a private university in the public service. Our commitment to service now is as deep as it was then. We continue to reflect the motives and actions of our generous founders, Mary Lucretia and Edward Creighton and Sarah Emily and John Creighton.
Creighton is dedicated to higher education, health care, the community at large, and the underserved of the world. Every year we evaluate how we can better live our mission and how we can help inspire men and women to lead and serve in their communities.

From a student: "I want to thank you (Fr. Alexander, S.J., and Maureen Waldron) for having the vision and initative to begin the Daily Student Reflection site. Today has been very special as I've received emails from as far away as New Zealand and India, and as close as professors here at CU. I am very moved by this whole process, and wanted to extend a sincere word of gratitude to you for your efforts in this endeavor."
From across the world: "Hi, I come from a long way from USA. I am very critical of your country as I see from a distance all the harm you inflict on the world. Yet, I have enjoyed and been blessed by this website for some time. I have recently started to read the students' reflections. They are just brilliant. It gives me hope that you, USA that is, can turn around and start to do good rather than evil when you are blessed with youngsters of the calibre presented in those reflections. Thank you."
