Summer School in Ireland
June 11 - July 5, 2008
While traditions remain strong in Ireland, there's much to be said about a country whose capital city's population is nearly half under the age of 25. At Creighton University's Summer School in Ireland, you'll spend four weeks at Trinity College in Dublin learning about how twenty-first century Ireland is cultivating its culture. The Creighton program continues to feature some of the best Irish literary and visual artists, scholars of Irish literature, and speakers on all aspects of Irish culture--from Intel to Inisheer.
But don't think you'll be stuck in the classroom the entire time. With long weekends and one group trip during the program, there will be plenty of opportunities to take in the cosmopolitan life of Dublin's city center, as well as the ways of the countryside and coastal towns. From traditional music to Indian food, every corner you turn in Ireland is something unexpected.
In the past eighteen years, the Creighton University Summer School in Ireland has become the most affordable and resourceful summer program in Ireland. And, really, that comes as little surprise. After all, it combines lectures by respected Irish writers and scholars with unique trips outside the classroom to give each student an authentic sampling of the elements of the Irish culture.
