Jason P. Steck

Jason Steck served with the U.S. Air Force at Offutt until 2001 and graduated from Creighton in 2002. His research focuses upon the changing relationship between military forces and civilians, specifically upon the role that policy failures and changes in international threats shape the rhetorical and political battles that military officers and civilian policymakers wage over jurisdictional control of issue areas ranging from military docrine to foreign policy to national economic policies. Jason's dissertation focuses on six periods of civil-military change in post-WWII U.S. history, as well as on broader global examples from Turkety and Argentina. He is currently working on this dissertation and hopes to complete it in the Summer of 2007.
