NEW MINORS IN FRENCH, GERMAN AND SPANISH

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures now has new majors in French, German, and Spanish:

  • B.A., minor in French and Francophone Studies
  • B.A., minor in German Studies
  • B.A., minor in Spanish and Hispanic Studies

These new programs have greater breadth and depth than the former. They are also more structured, demanding, and competitive. Students who have already been admitted to the former minors in each of these languages may re-apply for the new minor by selecting it on the Creighton Arts and Sciences website. (Please consult the University website for the Minor Declaration Form.) Until May 10, 2008, those who have not yet applied for or been admitted to a minor in French, German, or Spanish, may choose either the new or the old minor program by selecting the correct title on the Minor Declaration Online Form. After that date, all students applying will be admitted to the new minors in French and Francophone Studies, German Studies, or Spanish and Hispanic Studies.

It is strongly recommended that all first or second year students presently considering or admitted to a minor in French, German, or Spanish apply for the new minor. Please consult with your Academic Advisor prior to making this decision.

For detailed information on the above minors, click on the appropriate Language / Programs / Minors on this website, or consult the Registrar's Electronic Bulletin.
