Interpersonal Communication Major

This major provides you with both a theoretical and applied foundation in communication. In the major, you study interpersonal and group processes, as well as persuasion and gender communication. You may also concentrate your studies in areas such as health, family, cultural, and work-place relational communication. This major allows you to have the flexibility to customize your program by choosing elective courses from a variety of areas relevant to your career interests.  To see a list of courses, click here.

Organizational Communication Major

This major focuses on the relationship between communication and human behavior in organizations (business, government, non-profit). You will study the theory and practice of how organizations are created, maintained, and changed through communication. You will learn to communicate your ideas effectively through generating organizational literature and delivering presentations. You will improve your communication skills in groups and teams as well as in interviewing, conflict management and leadership. Communication Studies Minor

The minor provides you with an opportunity to develop communication competencies, at both theoretical and applied levels. The minor allows you to explore communication by providing structure and flexibility to give you a way to supplement your major and career goals. To see a list of courses, click here.

Communication Internships

All students complete an internship where you have a chance to apply what you learn and add to your resume. Previous interns have worked on campus, in business, on political campaigns, and for charitable organizations.
