About AWC Events
The Asian World Center sponsors several unique events each month relating to Asia. From lectures by distinguished Asian scholars to Asian film showings, these free and public events will increase your knowledge about Asian cultures and lifestyles and also help all of us to promote a mutual understanding of Western traditions with Eastern traditions. AWC Distinguished Lecture Series
The Asian World Center is pleased to announce the 2007 AWC Distinguished Lecture Series. The program aims to bring leading scholars and prominent individuals to visit Creighton University and share their insights and experiences with scholars, policy makers, business leaders and the general public. Asian Tea plus Reading
We welcome you to share some tea from around Asia while also reading (anything you wish) along with your host. The comfortable Union Pacific Room is reserved for this series of events. Just bring a book or two and join us for tea. It's simple and possibly more relaxing than the library. You can come and go anytime during the event. The last ten minutes will be open for sharing thoughts voluntarily based on your readings.
Your host from the Asian World Center, Dr. Maorong Jiang, asks only one thing from you: Read quietly...and enjoy the tea. The events are free and open to the public. (Click here for details)
Asia on Wednesday
Asia on Wednesday is a lecture series of brown-bag lunch gatherings scheduled on the last Wednesday of each month during the spring and fall semesters. The event is free and open to the public. (Click here for details)

A week-long series of events dedicated to non-western culture. Several fun and exciting events, talks, and demonstrations are scheduled for this year. (Click here for details)
