Aaron Mayernik, PR Officer/Office Manager

Hometown: Shelby, Montana

Favorite Aspect of Cardoner: I enjoy the great variety of programs Cardoner offers to the university.  The staff is also great to work with!

What I like to do for fun: Composing Orchestral and Symphonic Music, Hunting, Playing and Watching sports, Watching movies.

Reason I’m working at Creighton/Cardoner: I come from a very small town and Omaha is huge in comparison.  I wanted to work somewhere that has a smaller family-type atmosphere.  Creighton provides this.  The reason for working at Cardoner specifically is because of the mission of the program.  It is easy to lose sight of why you do what you are doing in life.  Cardoner helps us explore and examine our life’s purpose in a way that incorporates all aspects of our life to give it more meaning.  This is very unique in our rush-rush society today.

My Definition of Vocation: People get into a routine or may do a job for reasons that are less than noble, (i.e. money, prestige, power, etc.).  Some people describing their work say they have a job and there are times when you need just a job in life.  But a person’s vocation comes along when what they are doing (which can also be their job or career) becomes who they are, not just what they are doing.

Favorite Quote: “May the Force be with you.”
