Stericycle (Regulated Medical Waste) information
In March 2007, Matt Rothen from Stericycle presented important information about packaging Regulated Medical Waste (RMW). Below are his presentations. If you ship RMW through Stericycle, please take a minute to read over these presentations.
DOT Rule Revision 2006 describes the types of waste that Stericycle will and will not take.
DOT Training has information on packaging requirements, the proper way to prepare a package for shipping, and definitions of sharps and RMW.
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has an Environmental Guidance Document that lists which materials can not be put in the regular trash. This is an excellent brief summary of the regulations.
