Our website has changed!

On April 15, 2005, Creighton University launched its newly designed website. The main pages were revised to allow for continued growth and expansion of both the external and internal (community) pages. With the new look, visitors can find information about Creighton more quickly and easily. News and other dynamic content are right up front. But this is just the start, as new content will soon be added to other pages!

Through this collaborative effort between the Division of Information Technology and Public Relations, the website will continue to evolve to meet the needs of Creighton's constituents, both internal and external.

This content is intended to convey the central themes of the University's mission: its Catholic, Jesuit identity and commitment to academic excellence, service to others and promotion of justice. This site features:

  • A flash introduction highlighting the University's strategic vision.
  • News stories featuring Creighton, developed by Public Relations.
  • Events Banners, highlighting University events and happenings.
  • And (when appropriate) alerts, communicating emergency and major announcements.

This site was designed by Joel Davies, M.F.A., head of the visual communications sequence and Director of the Interdisciplinary Graphic Design Program. He earned a B.F.A. in fine arts from Creighton University and completed his graduate work in multimedia from Indiana State University. After working as a consultant to develop an undergraduate multimedia curriculum and facilities in Indiana, Joel returned to the Omaha area as a graphic/interactive designer at a local design studio. He joined the Creighton faculty in 1999 to develop the graphic design curriculum, for which he was awarded the Father Kelley Teaching Innovation Award in 2000.

Joel is a practicing graphic/interactive designer and illustrator with several freelance clients. He has worked on projects for local ad agencies, Omaha businesses and national/international corporations. Joel's freelance work keeps him current on the latest trends and theories in design, as well as on the bleeding edge of technology. An active and passionate professional, Joel served as President of the Nebraska chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts in 2001 - 2002.

This site is maintained by Public Relations, the Division of Information Technology and the appropriate University department associated with each top-tier landing page.
